Shoot during high pressure (clearer atmosphere), when there is no wind, and when there is no day time heat that may be causing optical issues. Shoot when the moon is high - the lower the moon is, the more atmosphere you have to shoot through, which can affect the sharpness. Use live view to focus.
The only way the camera would have an affect is via the micro fine focus adjustment, but that requires strict testing to determine if it needs adjusting.
